Rainy Saturday

Rain sucks when you're trying to get out and skate, but it can be good here in Georgia since it drops the temperature down about 15 degrees. The humidity gets worse, but at least you're not dying of heat stroke. All the normal spots were fucked due to mother nature, so I hit up a buddy and made the hour and a half drive to North Georgia Skatepark... which, if you're wondering, is located in bum-fuck nowhere.
The rain helped outside, but with no air conditioner, it was pretty much a sauna in this bitch.

Pain Is Temporary

We got a deep crew together here up north and made it to The Gloryhole.
A humbling experience.

Summer's Playground

Grindline Skateparks built a new park where the old Atlanta foundation used to be. It opened June 11th, two days before I got back from the cross-country trip. The transition is good, the little tiles are a nice touch, and the street section is...

bogus.

The Devil Makes Three

In today's musical age, chalked full of djs and dub step, there's a light at the end of the day-glow tunnel, a band that really puts a unique twist on the concept of "house music." Old blues, jug band, and ragtime were all just that, music to party to. Unlike the bullshit most people are trying to dance to, The Devil Makes Three provides a unique sound, not commonly heard at your typical house party. With some real lyrics, no drummer, and a steady, rhythm-focused sound, the band's got personality that keeps people's feet moving and their mouths drinking. I had the pleasure of seein 'em perform last night at the 5-spot in Atlanta. I had seen 'em twice at SLO brew, and when people asked how they were live, I used to tell 'em that they sound just like they did on their albums. After last night though, I changed my answer to that question.

The three, together, have really grown as a band, and most definitely sound better than any album they've produced. If you haven't heard 'em, go check 'em out, maybe buy some of their shit, and support a band that's keepin' it swetty. Also, If they're ever in an area near you, make it a point to see 'em... and for the sake of the first set, make sure you're on time.

SEASONING THE SANCTUARY

40 hours a week...............summer fuckin rules when your a workin man.  only forty more years of it too.  however, BREW SWET has been doing its best to hold it down.  fellow BS'rs in cayucos have been in light speed mode working on the what is by far the best wooden structure for skateboarding i've ever seen, and only steps to the beach makes it an even better place to spend some days.  Ethan, Joel, Christian and countless others have been pushing to get the corners done to complete this sanctuary.  Believe it or not, the Devil himself put in some work, and even provided plenty of beer for the construction crew.  and no.......im not kidding.  here are some random shots of the day.  thanks to everyone who has supported this project and everyone who has put their blood, swet and beers into it!
