Nues from NUE

My homie Phil is in the process of starting a magazine called NUE. I've known Phil since we were in the sixth grade or some b/s, so you could say we go back a ways. The mag is looking pretty legit and the first issue should have some worthy content for some hungry eyes. I asked Phil to give me some info about what he's trying to do with the mag and here's what he had to say....

sup man its me big P, holdin' strong u know....anyways

Yeah, so basically what Im trying to do with this magazine is just try and bring something to the youth, hell and even the older genertaion, that hasn't been seen around here. I mean you know everyone knows the central coast but just as some fucking snobby place where Oprah hangs out on vacation and we all fucking golf on the beach or something stupid. None of the things going on locally get any recognition for what they do and I figured what better way then to put together something so people can see with their own eyes whats really going on. On the other hand, I wanted to try and bring some outside culture in, being a Santa Maria local I know what its like to try and find out whats going on in the "real world" and what all is out there. So its really a give and take type of thing and I think, well hey I like music, skating, clothes, beer, food, film, all that stuff, and I knows there other people out there so lets do something with it and make it happen. Thats what I wanna do with NUE.

The first issue will include: The Get all Saucy Like interview Ben Cabreana. "Chili, Wine, Electric Apricot"... a Mexican style chili recipe by Micah Boyd. DNA Groove Clothing- Mod Fashion of 2011. Album & Band Reviews + Comics by William Mendez. Reader Columns by Kanen Logan. And a Brew Swet Article written by yours truly. Check out their site and show some support!

Brew Swetters and Couch Soilers

Justin's parent's house has been a notorious party spot since we we're kids growing up. Every time the parents leave, the beers start to flow. Here are some photos from the other night.

Justin the ghost tickler.

The Devil gettin' all snuggled.
The homies reveling in it.
And then the couch was bummed.

Tim Titty

Tim Rivera is a really good artist, though he's stuck in his ways. We were talking about using different materials and mediums and he's just over it: "Pencil and paper dude, I grew up on that shit." Tim mostly draws portraiture, but his skill level definitely spans beyond that alone. He also uses charcoal and occasionally splashes some color here and there. Muvugger would utilize color more, but is lazy, and "doesn't want to learn how to do that shit". I asked him just yesterday, why he doesn't incorporate art into a career, and true to the B/S style he said he's over it. He'd tried it before but people started asking him to draw shit he didn't really care about. "At that point," he said, "it turned away from being fun, and I just stopped enjoying it". So whether he wind up doing it for a living or stays low key, keep both eyes peeled for this guy, he'll cut throat you.

Finals Week

Got a bunch of stuff going on this week, and traveling has limited my ability to get out and shoot... so there's not been much new stuff to post. Here's something I worked on a little while ago though...

Homeboy's not so little anymore...

This car seat is the antithesis of Ty's abilities. He may be vertically challenged for the moment, but put that guy on a skateboard and watch how he changes instantly from boy to man. Lil fucker. Haha.

Oh and he can film and edit like a champ too...

Shred Fast... and yes, SLAM HARD

Day started out like any other typical skate day... everyone lagging. Headed to Deshong Skatepark which was dope, lots of good ledges and a boosty Euro. After that, I suggested we check out Mountain Park Park. Bad idea. I rolled in, grinded the opposite wall, only to quickly meet the concrete at the bottom. It would have been worse had my face not cushioned my fall.
6 stitches later...

CayPUKUS

Before the weight of school came crashing down again, I got the homies up early, and took a little trip up the coast.

Blair got down with some quick back-d's.

And for some reason... felt the need to poke this melon way out there.

Never ceasing to blow my mind, Nick was hyped on gettin outta the house... never saying that exactly but and his skating told all.

To some things up... best way to start a day. Look out for events comin soon to the ramp. BREWWW SWETTT?

Travelin' Bone

Recently, I returned from a trip I was sent on by Cal Poly. The trip was to Chicago for the National CEO Conference. Hundreds of students from around the country, some cool as hell, others... not so cool. The city is ridiculous though, and is littered with spots. The nightlife is rad, though I'd keep an eye on my stuff if I were you. I got a jacket stolen from a bar with about 30 dollars, my id, and every note I'd taken from the conference I was attending... but that's another story. Tons of beautiful women, an awesome blend of architecture and some really dank food. Unfortunately, I had no board to leave my mark on the city with... so until next time Chi-town.

Trip was insane, and will NOT soon be forgotten.
