Athens... with or without you

I'm realizing more and more how the site has less and less skateboarding in it, but I guess its kinda hard when you show up after 2 hours of driving to find a completely empty park. I'll post these pictures anyway. Maybe you can dream up your own tricks for them.
Athens is another Grindline park, and from what I've come to understand the dudes who made it were wasted and just blasting concrete everywhere. Sounds pretty fucking Brew Swet to me...
A little something different to grind your trucks on.
Even though its a long, boring drive, I'd make it all over again. This park is rad, with a bunch of imperfections, but a pretty sick flow. The Terrapin brewery is up there, so keep at least one eye open for some photos from there soon.

Buckhead, Georgia

I've gained a new respect for the working skater. When you work, especially without a fixed schedule, you cant just find time to skate, you've got to make time to skate. After working a double, and being at the restaurant all damn day, I was finishing up my shift beer when I got a call from my buddy Geronimo. He and a few friends were in the car ready to go skate downtown. Told me they'd wait for me, so I slammed down the last of my Turbodog, and mashed out. Our first spot was this sick ass bank to ledge.... hassle-free, perfectly lit, with a downhill runway. Boardslide, noseslide, front board, crooks, and tailslide all went down simply as an homage to the skate gods. No camera, no photos, just good ol' skateboarding.
After this spot, we cruised over to two up, two down which is exactly what it sounds like. After puttin' in some work there we headed over to yet another ledge spot, where that ledge Marc Johnson did the noseblunt to switch back noseblunt over the little metal thing is. Spot is super sketchy. After a couple more spots, all was said 'n done. We got back home around 4 or so, completely burnt... all just to wake up and go to back to the grind the next day. So, if you're a skater and hold down a job, go ahead and pat yourself on the back, and keep your eyes lookin forward to the next sesh. Gotta have some way to get though the B/S right?

Living Walls, Atlanta

Last Saturday I went with my buddy Garrett to check out Atlanta's Living Walls Conference. The idea behind the project is to reach out to the public and connect people interacting within the city with the street artists that give face and style to a lot of the walls surrounding them. Its their second year putting on the event, and it was really rad. You can bring your own beer, doesn't cost a dime to get in, live music, and tons of artwork. Grabbed myself a 12 pack of Pabst, and let the night begin.
The band was alright, the girl playing the banjo couldn't really play the banjo, but the show itself was pretty rad. And it didn't hurt that the girls were wearing half of nothing.
I think its safe to say, every skatebaorder can appreciate this one.
Byob was a nice touch, and its pretty obvious people took advantage of the opportunity. My apologies to the artists, I was a little buzzed at the time and forgot to get the names of the pieces and the artists. If you do a little digging though, you can find them here. http://livingwallsconference.com/

Family Tradition

My family has been going here for as long as I can remember. I'd never been old enough to get into this bar, but last weekend I was finally initiated. A total dive, tons of good looking women, and big enough to accommodate multiple bands simultaneously... The Flora-Bama.
Right on the state line, its a hell of a time, and if you ever get the chance, you'll likely find one of the family there.
